     Cancer is slowly taking the number one spot as the most common cause of mortality in the world. Over exposure to stress, pollutions, cancer-causing chemicals and other health hazards can cause cancer in almost anyone. Even the rarest cancer such as mesothelioma can develop unexpectedly in people due to prolonged and frequent exposure to asbestos.However, cancer can still be prevented if people try to maintain a healthy lifestyle and eat healthy and eating healthily means eating more nutritious and organic foods. Here are some tips on how to prevent mesothelioma with organic food.

     Eating organic food will not only give the vitamins and nutrients needed for a healthy body, it also gives the added advantage of eating food that is free from chemical pesticides and other hazards. There are several food which should be especially eaten organically. Strawberries, for example, are grown heavily sprayed with chemicals and since the fruit is porous, it can easily absorb pesticides which in turn can be absorbed by the body. Rice is also grown with pesticides and according to studies 15% of the types of pesticides used have harmful effects. Another are bananas, which in fact are food grown with the most pesticides. And although pesticides may not seem to have an effect on milk, the grass eaten by cows may even contain pesticides. And these pesticides once they enter the body can make the body ill thus weakening the body’s immune system. And a weaken immune system can have grave effects especially on a person with cancer. Thus eating organic foods especially of these food groups is essential for maintaining a healthy body.

     Experts also recommend eating more of raw foods instead of cooked foods because thirty to eighty-five percent of the vitamins and minerals in food is destroyed in cooking. Natural, fresh raw foods contain the highest level of enzymes which are important catalysts in the many chemical reactions in the body. An example of a raw food which is now popularly available is wheatgrass. Wheatgrass is said to contain abscissic acid which has the ability to kill cancer cells on contact.

                                                                                           

      It is also recommended to eat more of fruits like avocado. Avocadoes are rich in antioxidants like glutathione and beta-carotene, which neutralized free radicals that can promote cancer. Egg yolks from eggs also contain high levels of amino acids like tryptophan and tyrosine which are known for their antioxidant properties. Eating more cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower, brussel sprouts, cabbage and broccoli will also help greatly. These vegetables also contain antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin. These also contain a chemical component called indole-3-carbinol and sulforaphane that induce the production of enzymes that also neutralize and deactivate free radicals and carcinogens. Other fruits like grapefruit, oranges and other citrus fruits contain monoterpenes that can sweep out carcinogens out of the body. And the vitamin C they contain can help improve the immune system.

     Olives, according to research, can promote apoptosis or the death of cancer cells because of the natural chemicals maslinic and oleanolic acids. Mushrooms with polysaccharides, on the other hand, can suppress cancer enzymes which essential for the growth of cancer cells. Certain spices were also discovered to help fight cancer. These include garlic which contain allium compounds that can enhance the immunity of the body that can fight cancer and block carcinogens from entering cells thus decreasing tumor development.

     Eating heathy is very important not just to fight cancer but to maintain a healthly body in general. And it is not too late to start eating more organic foods and less of synthetic, chemical-filled produce.
