The very strong connection between asbestos and lung cancer
Scientific studies have shown that asbestos can increase the chances of a person contracting lung cancer. The substance asbestos has been officially given the name of “preeminent carcinogen†which simple means that it is a substance which can cause cancer. Asbestos and lung cancer have been related to each other from a very long time and only now are the facts coming to the surface.
Asbestos is part of so many substances or products we use. When a thing which contains asbestos is moved tiny, microscopic fibers of the asbestos fly in the air. They are very small and it is very easy for human beings to breathe them into the lungs. The human lungs are not sure what to do with this new kind of substance filling into them and thus these deadly spores just lie in the lungs for years together either scarring or inflaming the lungs which leads to major health problems. These tiny spores of asbestos do not interfere with the breathing so one does not even know if there is something wrong been going on.
Asbestos can definitely lead to lung cancer, in fact you can say that asbestos and lung cancer are very closely related. Mesothelioma is a rare kind of lung cancer which is caused by exposure to asbestos. It is said that you cannot be afflicted with mesothelioma if you have not been exposed to asbestos. A substance such as asbestos which can lead to such serious and fatal effects is still being used by many.
